FIRST OFF: WHAT IS  "COPY" EXACTLY?

Copywriting is the art & science of using words to advertise, market, or sell a good or service.

But, that definition sounds super boring.

I like to think of copywriting as a dating profile for your business; you only have so many words to clearly and effectively communicate who you are and what you offer in order to make a meaningful connection.

Copywriting is how you tell your story and show the real you behind your business, creating a sense of trust and loyalty and making people want to come back again and again.

Let's be real...spending hours writing yourself in circles totally sucks. Also, raise your hand if the word "branding" makes you cringe (a lot). ((SAME)).


HOW I WORK
First, I just sorta let you talk it out and tell me what you need. It's like therapy, really. Because as a business owner myself, I know it's scary to put your stuff out there! Because it's your BABY! And you want it to be PERFECT! And so you procrastinate actually making/releasing the thing because...*spoiler alert*...it's NEVER going to be "PERFECT".


THAT'S WHERE I COME IN
I get a sense of who you *really* are (not just who your Instagram says you are) and take a look at what you've already got.
Then I identify stuff that's gonna help tell your story, like:
  • How you can improve what you already have
  • How to refine the message you're presenting to make it more complete and accurate
  • The kinds of people/clients/friends you should be targeting
  • Some additional opportunities you can take to reach them
  • Some attainable goals to work towards in the future​

PRETTY COOL, RIGHT?!

Now, just like I say when I'm trying stuff on at the mall: this is NOT "one size fits all"! Some people need a total web copy overhaul, some need a few templates for marketing emails, some just need help knowing what programs can help them figure out what the heck to do with their Instagram feed. I'll always be honest with what I think is a good place to start for where you are with your business. I will never promise to give you the moon, but I will tell you actionable steps you can take to get there!
